Morning Bear Redux 2017
I am very proud to announce that the very talented John Runnels is bringing Morning Bear back to the UK to perform at his second The Big Gay Al Presents house concert series on 19th November 2017.
Morning Bear is an orchestral indie folk project based in Denver, Colorado. The nom de guerre of singer/songwriter John Runnels, the project formed in March of 2014 when Runnels quit his job as an engineer and took a one-way flight to Sevilla, Spain. Runnels spent six and a half months traveling Europe with just a guitar and a backpack, playing on the streets for change. Morning Bear’s music features songs written during these travels, taking listeners on a candid and emotional journey through battles with self-doubt, the challenges of risk taking, and of growing up.
Last year John took a trip to Iceland to play and experience their main music festival. Afterwards he came over to the UK to perform a very limited number of concerts including Sofar sounds and the Big Gay Al Presents.. We obviously made an impression on him, as he made an impression on us, as this time he is coming back to the UK again to perform for BGA, giving you another rare opportunity to see this incredible singer songwriter live in London
House concerts are small, intimate affairs held in my home and garden. As such ticket availability is very limited so reserve your space soon! Events are usually standing only.

Hosting intimate house concerts enables me to indulge in both at the same time! The deal is that I provide the venue and the food. The artist provides some incredible live music. The guests provide an enthusiastic audience and you are asked to bring a bottle of whatever you like to drink and some money for the artists tip jar, or to buy some merchandise/cds etc.
